Teen charged with attacking girl in park appears in court

A teenager charged with attacking a teenage girl near a Christchurch park has reappeared in court.

The teenager was arrested on 7 December on charges including kidnapping, strangulation and sexual violation.

He continues to have name suppression, and appeared in Christchurch District Court today for a sentencing indication.

On 3 December, the teenager allegedly followed the girl through Barrington Park, where he allegedly threatened to kill her and then attacked her.

He was remanded in custody.
