Two motorcyclists missing in Akatarawa Forest

Two people have been missing overnight in the Akatarawa Forest near Wellington.

Police were called at around 9.40pm on Sunday after the pair had failed to return from an off-road motorcycle ride at the expected time of 5pm.

Their four-wheel drive vehicles were found at the entrance to the forest in Upper Hutt.

Wellington Search and Rescue teams looked for the pair on Sunday night and were continuing the search from first light on Monday.
