SH25 landside cleared as road reopens
State Highway 25 closed again between Tapu and Waiomu on 26 June, 2023, after more rocks and debris slipped overnight blocking both lanes.

The highway around the Coromandel Peninsula coast is fully open again now that a landslide between Thames and Coromandel township has been cleared.
State Highway 25 was closed when slips came down at Ruamahanga Bay and Waiomu two weeks ago.
Waka Kotahi spokesperson Liam Ryan said clearing the slips and managing further landslides has been a huge job for contractors.
