NZ police officer arrested over assault of teenager in Australia
Ppolice have confirmed that a serving New Zealand officer is facing criminal charges in Canberra, over an alleged indecent assault on a teenager.
The Canberra Times has identified the accused officer as 66-year-old David Brooke.
The police said the alleged offending occurred in an international jurisdiction, while the officer was on leave.
The Canberra Times reported the officer was attending a national football tournament as a referee when the offending occurred.
They said they are limited in making further comment, as a court process is under way, but an employment process will be carried out.
